Abstract

Passenger doors for Aircraft need to be equipped with windows for safety and security reasons. This has until now resulted in traditional windows used for aircraft doors. The present proposal is related to a new kind of aircraft passenger door which does not have a conventional window. The window is replaced by a picture transmitting glass fiber bundle with receiving lenses and picture screen.

The image of the picture screen is built up by the summarized individual partial image pixels by each fiber. The combined thickness of the fiber bundle is measured in a few millimeters, to be compared with the size of a whole window. Advantages of invention:

• Cost saving (no expensive window, no stiffening window frame)

• Time saving (less installation effort and time)

• Safety improvement (no big hole in door structure)

• Weight saving (window and window frame omitted)
