PATIENT SAFETY BY SENSOR DETECTION AND ALERT NOTIFICATION

BACKGROUND

The present disclosure relates generally to patient healthcare and safety measures and more particularly to patient safety by sensor detection and alert notification.

Nosocomial infections are one of the major concerns for infections to the patients admitted in the hospital. Hospital bound infections can further delay the recovery of the patient and hence leads to increased healthcare cost. Furthermore, the hospital transmitted infections can turn out to be fatal at times.

Several measures have been taken to overcome nosocomial infections. Healthcare personals are regularly advised to wash hands prior to entering a patient care area or prior contacting a patient. Patients are also encouraged to remind their healthcare provider to wash hands before contact or start of a procedure. However, due to busy working schedules of healthcare personals, certain precautionary activities like hand washing remains unnoticed.

It would be desirable to have an efficient system for patient safety by sensor detection and alert notification.
