Method and System for Automatically Generating Digital Records of Game Moves

using a Portable sensor Pen

Disclosed is a method and system for automatically generating digital records of game

moves using a portable sensor pen. The method and system facilitates a user of the

game to simultaneously create digital as well as physical (hand written) records of the

game moves by using the portable sensor pen. The moves can be recorded from one

or more games such as, for example, chess, go, Shogi, Bridge, Draughts, Xianqi,

Scribble, etc.

In accordance with the method and system, the user is enabled to record each game

move by using the sensor enabled pen. The method and system utilizes a language

model that is defined and constrained over grammar and alphabets of a particular game

notation language. Subsequently, the sensor of the pen is utilized for tracking motions

generated by the user while writing game moves on a paper. Thereafter, a classifier of

the language model maps the recorded motions to characters and words of the game

notation language and stores the game moves in the game specific language.

In an embodiment, the method and system provides the sensor enabled pen with a

biometric sensing unit, which facilitates the verification of authenticity and identity of the

user. Additionally, a hand writing sensor provided on the portable pen matches the

handwriting of every submission of the user on the paper with previously verified

samples, by utilizing standard pattern match...
