Usually, in a command prompt environment, a user may not be aware of level of access the user has and a role the user is currently in right now.

Disclosed is a method and system for intelligently providing visual cues to a user in a command prompt environment based on the user’s current role. The cues help the user to understand the role and the level of access the user has in the command prompt environment.

Fig. 1 illustrates a work flow of a method and system for providing visual cues to a command prompt user based on the user’s current role.

In accordance with the method and system, when the user interacts with the command prompt window, the method and system automatically detects the user’s current role in the environment. Once, the user starts typing command strings, the method and system analyzes the command strings by parsing the keywords from the command strings.
