System and method to display presentations intelligently during web meeting

In an online web meeting, many times it happens that the Presenter has so much materials that he

keeps doing a search manually in the presentations, website, and other resources to show the

specific information to participants. This usually happens during Questions and Answers session.

When the Participants ask about a topic and to explain the topic elaborately, the presenter

manually searches for that specific topic in his materials and show it to participants. By doing a

manual search, the Presenter gets deviated from the topic of discussion and the time flies in

finding information.

The feature disclosed will provide a solution to this problem that enables any online

collaboration tool to intelligently select the topic from the presenter's materials and display the

page to participants based on the topic that is getting discussed during meeting.

This is how the online collaboration tool works:

1. A Presenter uploads all his presentation materials (pdf, any website, ppt, or any file, or a

collection of files that he wants to show to his participants) during the start of meeting. The

uploaded materials get crawled and indexed by Index Module.

2. The web meeting tool has a Listener Module that listens to the voice spoken in the conference.

The Listener Module extracts the words spoken. For every count of say 100 words (or

configurable count of words) spoken, it sends the words to Keywords Module. The Keywords

Module extracts keywords and sends the extracted keywords to Monitor module.

3. The Monitor Module checks whether the screen displayed has words (either in the display

page/slide notes/comments/annotations/sticky notes) matching with the keywords that is

extracted. If it finds not matching, then the Monitor Module triggers the Search Module to search

for keywords from the presentation materials uploaded by the Presenter.

4. The search results are sent to Presentation Module and that displays the most relevant page in

the meeting according to transition page configuration rules.

5. The transition page (the page to display in the meeting) configuration can be either manual or

automatic. If the transition page configuration is automatic, then the tool transitions the page

itself during meeting. Also in an automatic configuration, in case if the relevant matches are

found in 2 files, then a Presenter can configure rules say: in a xml file (see: TransitionConf.xml)

to prioritize the file to display from his list of materials uploaded to meeting. The transition

configuration can also include conditions to change the display order. If the condition is not met,

then it follows the default display order. If the transition page configuration is manual, then the

tool displays the search results (list of files and pages) in the order of most relevant match found

and present it to Presenter. Then the presenter can select the display file, page from the search

results suggeste...
