5-[3-[(1S)-2,3-dihydro-1-[(2-hydroxyethyl)amino]-1H-inden-4-yl]-1,2,4-oxadiazol-5-

yl]-2-(1-methylethoxy) benzonitrile hydrochloride salt is depicted in the following

chemical structure:

Crystalline form I of 5-[3-[(1S)-2,3-dihydro-1-[(2-hydroxyethyl)amino]-1H-inden-4-

yl]-1,2,4-oxadiazol-5-yl]-2-(1-methylethoxy) benzonitrile hydrochloride salt was

prepared according to the following examples:

5-[3-[(1S)-2,3-dihydro-1-[(2-hydroxyethyl)amino]-1H-inden-4-yl]-1,2,4-oxadiazol-5-

yl]-2-(1-methylethoxy) benzonitrile hydrochloride salt is available commercially and

can be prepared by any published procedure, such as in US patent publication

US8362048 or WO2011060392.

Example 1: About 5 gr of 5-[3-[(1S)-2,3-dihydro-1-[(2-hydroxyethyl)amino]-1H-

inden-4-yl]-1,2,4-oxadiazol-5-yl]-2-(1-methylethoxy) benzonitrile hydrochloride salt

was dissolved in 500 ml of water and solution was lyophilized at temperature (-97°C),

pressure 0,5 hPa for 15 hours. The obtained solid was analyzed by X-Ray Powder

diffraction.

Example 2: 5 g of 5-[3-[(1S)-2,3-dihydro-1-[(2-hydroxyethyl)amino]-1H-inden-4-yl]-

1,2,4-oxadiazol-5-yl]-2-(1-methylethoxy) benzonitrile hydrochloride salt was

dissolved at 500 ml of acetonitrile and solution was lyophilized at temperature (-

97°C), pressure 0,5 hPa for 15 hours. The obtained solid was analyzed by X-Ray
