ALPHA-CALL
by Jaupes 6. Lopes
Abstract: Described herein is a system that allows a user to send an alpha-numeric message from a stan- dard touchtone phone.
The set-up basically consists of a Paging System provided with an algorithm such that is able to recognize and execute a customer's '?one command" instruction. The Alpha-Call mode engagement as well as the sys- tem's instructions, are done by sets of two tones as described below.
To each user, there will be either a X amount of minutes or a Y number of tones allowed to deliver each message.
Depressing the '*' and then any of the numerical keys (except #I), will enable the character imprinted on the upper left corner of the key.
Depressing "#" and then any of the numerical keys (except #l), will enable the character on the upper right corner.
Depressing any key (except 1, 0, *, #), will enable the upper middle character.
