Abstract
In Motorola Integrated Radio System (MIRS), there exist several variations of Group Call: Local, Selected and Wide Area. The 'lead" subscriber is compelled to form a decision as to the type of Group Call selection without the benefit of knowledge of the location of the target subscribers due to unavailability of such information at the call origi- nation time. An attempt to establish a Group Call in a given Location Area, may lead to wistful expend- iture of valuable system resources, as the chosen Location Area may not contain appropriate targets.
