Hardware assisted screen-saver/suspend function termination Hardware assisted screen-saver/suspend function termination Abstract: Today more and more computer systems such as desktop systems and portables are being used for on-line education, presentations, slide-shows and movies. There is nothing more annoying than to have the screen saver turn on during the presentation. Most users like to keep the screen saver function on for the most part except when they are using their PCs in this mode (eduction or entertainment). For this reason, it makes sense to have a hardware button that can turn on the screen saver or quickly turn it off. Summary: The invention allows the user to push a single button to enable screen saver and then push the same button to disable it. In the case that power management is enabled, it would also prevent the system from suspending into a power saving mode.
