EASY ACCESS TO HELP FOR MESSAGES APPEARING IN MESSAGE DIALOGS IN A WEB-BASED USER INTERFACE

Disclosed is a method for accessing help information relating to messages contained in pop-up dialogs in a web-based user interface. The method is such that the user can access help for a particular message without dismissing their current work or task. The problem being solved as described in this publication is the need for warning or informational messages to appear in a web-based software application user interface. Often, when a message appears, more information is needed. This method provides access to that additional information, by providing A Help button in the message dialog box, next to the OK button used to dismiss the dialog box Clicking the Help button causes another web browser window to open, containing The message number and text A detailed description of the message A description of the system action, and The recommended user response to the message After reading the explanation, the user can dismiss both the dialog box and the browser window with the expanded message text.
