This invention allows users to pick from a group of "yellow stickys" where each yellow sticky has a window associated with it. The yellow sticky is a mark associated with the window by the user. The mark can appear as a tab above the window, as a yellow box on the tile bar or as a yellow sticky which is displayed when the window is not in focus so that the user can see find the window they want. In the case of the yellow sticky appearing as a mark on the title bar, when the user puts their mouse pointer over this, pop-up text will present the contents of the yellow sticky. In the case that the yellow sticky is displayed on the window just like a yellow sticky is pasted there, the sticky will vanish when the window is brought into focus so the sticky does not interfere with the user's interaction with the window. In the latter case where the sticky appears as a yellow sticky over the window, we allow the user to place the yellow sticky onto the window at a location which they desire. To add further realism, the yellow sticky can be angled so it really looks like something that was just pasted on the window. Also, the yellow sticky can be made to float to a position in the window that is visible. 1
