Use an integrated solution for client network migrations to minimize client down-time, and maximize efficient use of IT services resources. The solution results in better data integrity, less required data inputting and updating, increased record auditability, and increased data availability. By using an integrated business process that managed three implementation processes as one migration process, ten business advantages were achieved: (1) minimal network downtime for the client; (2) IT services personnel were utilized efficiently with minimal wait time; (3) decrease of the normal business process for network address administration from 8 days to 3 days; (4) utilization of a geographically dispersed team to provide support for a location during the migration project; (5) integration of the scheduling function with information on the client enables timely communications sent to the targeted client prior to migration, eliminating the need for mass mailings or multiple mailings; (6) purchase of network interface cards is done using real data obtained during the inventory; (7) all of the information needed to perform a workstation migration can be printed on a single work order; (8) information needed by the networking specialists for their work in the communications rooms (wiring closets) is available online in a single view or via a printed document; (9) information on all aspects of the project is available in a single place for use by the project manager(s) in planning, executing, managing, and reporting on the project; (10) using a common database for client and workstation information allows an accurate financial accounting for charges to the correct client. 1 Shipment and Storage Status
