Many phones contain integrated address books which provide name and address lookup and automated dialing of phone numbers, with the names, addresses, and phone numbers in these address books having been entered manually by users. Users often call directory assistance for addresses and phone numbers, and when found, the users must either: write down the address and phone number and then dial manually press a key on their phone keypad to have directory assistance dial the number. If the user wants to add the name, address, and phone number retrieved from directory assistance into their phone's integrated address book, they must enter the information manually. This manual entry of names, addresses, and phone numbers is time-consuming and error prone. This invention eliminates the need to manually enter address book information retrieved from directory assistance, thereby saving time and eliminating the errors associated with the manual entry of data.
