Verbal announcement of dialed digits
Original Publication Date: 2001-Apr-01

When the calling party is connected to a wrong destination then this could be caused by dialing one (or more) wrong digits (mistyping problem) or because the number itself does not correspond to the desired destination (wrong information). So the question is: Was the dialed number wrong or not? For a POTS-subscriber (without display), no information about the dialed digits can be retrieved. For an ISDN-subscriber or a POTS-subscriber with display, for which also COLP (COnnected Line identification Presentation) is active as feature, the called party is displayed. When also other display functions are active (like AOC or displaying the name of the called party), then the digit information is (depending on the used device) no longer visible.
