Disclosed is an efficient control mechanism of call transfer integrated with the GUI (call answering popup screen). The answering popup screen itself was a technology of CTI (Computer Telephony Integration) which allows the subscriber (or user) to monitor the calling information in the popup screen befor the phone rings. And this popup screen can have the function to transfer the call before answering. However, there have been the restriction that the destination of transferring the call should be pre-registered in the provisioning database. This invention introduces the new mechanism which allows the dynamic transferring using Parlay and GUI (call answering popup screen).

Efficient control of call transfer by the call answering popup screen

This new dynamic transfer mechanism allows the subscriber to transfer the  call before answerring WITHOUT any pre-registration in the provisioning  database. There are several ways of implementation. For example, 
(1) Input the destination phone number in the call answering popup
(2) Capture the destination phone number from the external application such  as yellow page
(3) The call answering popup itself has the part of the phone number search  application
(4) The call control server (ex. Parlay application server) can interact  with the phone number search application
(5) In the case of (4), the phone number of the meeting room can also be  used. (The subscriber specifies the meeting room (not the phone number),  then the call is transfered to the phone in the meeting room)

Using Parlay technology, this implementation does not depend on the  specific telecom network, so this can be applied to the PSTN (Public  Switched Telephone Network), Mobile network, IP based network, in addition  to the Private Telecom Network controlled by PBX (Private Branch Exchange).  The following figure describes the overview of the system configuration  example.

call answering screen. (if not "logged in", the Parlay Application Server routes back the call to the Parlay Gateway so the call is immediately  routed to the subscriber's phone.) Usually, the subscriber checks the  calling information (such as, the caller is Mr. Taro Yamada etc..), then  pressing answer button invokes the indication to the Parlay Application  Server to route the call to the subscriber's phone, so the subscriber can  answer to the actual phone.
