Abstract

A process is provided for using a high quality 1itho~ graphic metal master to prepare a waterless lithographic master, The imaged metal master is wetted in the non~ imaged areas with a fountain solution and then contacted with an acrylic resin in a suitable solvent to wet the image areas, The wet image is then brought into contact with a polyblock silicone plate to image the silicone plate, The acrylic is found to adhere well to the polyblock silicone, The silicone master can be employed in the direct printing mode without the requirement of an offset roller, and the image is in the proper sense because it was formed from a lithographic plate which was previously used in the offset mode,
