Abstract

In ha1f~tone printing, a modulated charge pattern is recorded on a photoconductive surface. The foregoing may be achieved by corona charging device 10. Corona charging device includes a substantially tJ~shaped shield 12 having a pair of coronode wires 14 extending parallel to one another along the longitudinal axis of shield 12, A plurality of screen wires 16 extend substantially normal to coronode wires 14, Screen wires 16 are sub~ stantially parallel to the direction of rotation of the photoconductive drum.
