A high speed multi-faceted polygon is provided by precisely machining a multi-facetedaluminum polygon 20 and then coating the polygon with an adhesive layer 21. Nickel flats 22 are secured to the facets of polygon 20 by the adhesive layer 21, the adhesive having the proper viscosity to permit positioning of the facet into place. In the preferred embodiment, polygon 20 is fabricated of aluminum alloy 7075-T65l, A finishing coating of aluminum followed by silicon monoxide may be ap-plied to the surface of the nickel flats 22.
