Abstract

A stripping head system 1 for either a vacuum or positive pressure pneumatic photoreceptor copy sheet stripping system. Here the desired 1 10 mu, gap between the stripping head 1 and the photoreceptor 2 and copy sheet 3 is maintained by flexible diaphragms 4, 5 in the head (adjacent a central pneumatic port 6) which deflect from the stripping air flow passing under it, The diaphragms 4, 5 are also controlled by a separate pneumatic chamber 7 behind them which may be vented to atmosphere as shown or separately pressurized, Higher stripping vacuum levels may be achieved under the head 1 with lower air flows through the smaller gap, yet without un-desirable contact with the photoreceptor even with run-out variations in the photoreceptor surface position,
