Commercially available book binding machines, such as the Xerox-Cheshire Model 750 Binder, utilize a roll feed mechanism to automatically cut and feed a binding strip into the machine above a heated platen. The strip is provided with hot melt adhesive which when contacted by the hot platen melts and. secures the pages of the book being bound to the binding strip.
