To fit two corona generating devices 10 and 12 into a given amount of space be-tween a transfer station and a vacuum transport on a xerographic reproduction machine, a new architectural arrangement was devised. The devices have elongated shields 14 and 16 having transverse, generally U-shaped cross-sections. The first shield 10 includes two oppositely extending elongated rails 18 and 20 which mate with matching grooves 22 and 24 in a mounting bracket 26 to support the shield. To support the second shield 12, it is provided with a rail 28 which mates with a matching groove 30 in the first shield 10 and with a groove 32 which mates with a matching rail 34 on the first shield 10.
