A pair of molded end caps 10 and 12 are formed having slots 14 and 16, respectively, therein. End cap 10 has a hole 18 for receiving ball bearings therein. End cap 12 has a stub shaft extending outwardly therefrom so as to be supported by a suitable bearing arrangement. Injection molded segment magnets 22 are inserted in the slots of the molded plastic-end caps and supported thereby. This arrangement forms a magnetic roller for use in a magnetic brush development system. The magnetic roller is supported in a cantilever fashion by shaft 20 and by bearings mounted in aperture or hole 18. In this way, the entire assembly is formed by a molding process so as to be relatively low in cost.
