Abstract

Migration imaging (XDM) is well known and described, for example, in US. Patent 3,975,195. Inks have been prepared for developing electrostatic latent images on migration imaging members. Preparation was effected by ball-milling ink concentrate ingredients for 48 hours in polyethylene jars with 114 inch stainless steel balls. These ink concentrates were diluted with ISOPAR G (available from Exxon) at a ratio of 50 grams of concentrate to 2,500 ml of ISOPAR G. Ink formulations containing pigment, soluble polymer serving a dual role as pigment dispersant and binder, and charge control agents (C.C.A.) to ensure positively charged particles were prepared as follows:
