Disclosed is a process for fabricating a coated belt comprised of the following steps: (1) a belt of polyethylene terephthalate by blow molding at a Predetermined heat set temperature to achieve a predetermined heat shrinkage characteristic, (2) supporting the belt on a liner having a circumference slightly larger than the predetermined circum-ference of the final coated belt, (3) applying at least one coated layer comprised of a film forming binder on the belt to form a coated belt, (4) drying the coated belt to shrink the belt, (5) cooling the coated belt, and (6) removing the coated belt fiom the liner.
