Proposed is the usage of a single, full width printhead in color capable printers. Primary color inks would be exchanged between passes into the printhead to print a single page so that the one bar prints all the colors. Color printing with a single printhead reduces the cost of the printer. In addition to lower cost, print quality is improved by better registration and by using high definition, slow drying color inks.
