Xerox Disclosure Journal
Disclosed is the use of a sensor placed in the Automatic Document Handler (ADF) of an electrophotographic printing machine. The sensor compares the characteristics of originals to job programming options selected. The sensor, by way of examples, detects single versus double sided, original size, and color versus no color options. Then based on discrepancies, the printing job is interrupted or prevented, and the operator is made aware of the differences. The disclosed sensor improves customer satisfaction and avoids wasted paper caused by incorrectly programmed jobs.
