Effective cooling of inverters in solar power systems

    Electronic inverters used in solar energy equipment need effective cooling. This can be achieved by mounting the inverter on a metal mounting plate that in turn is fixed e.g. to a wall. The mounting plane serves not only as mounting plane but also as heatsink. The metal is preferably a metal with high thermal conductivity such as aluminium. A good thermal contact needs to be established between the inverter and the mounting plate for the latter to effectively function as a heatsink.
