An analog subscriber of a telephone network can be informed about the result of his Subscriber Controlled Input (SCI) action only by means of audible response, receiving an acknowledgement tone or an announcement. In case of an acknowledgement tone and unsuccessful trial the subscriber has no further information about the reason of the failure. Concerning the erroneous action which has been performed, the case of response with announcement gives more information than a tone signal. Though, an announcement is also insufficient most of the times, and if it cannot be applied for any reason, a tone signal is sent to the subscriber. Up to now for analog users no visual presentation of SCI acknowledgements is provided. A new idea offers an enhancement of the mode that the audible announcement can be represented in TDM Switches (Time Division Multiplexing) such as Electronic Worldwide Switch Digital (EWSD), for example. A subscriber's Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) with Frequency Shift Keying (FSK) capabilities will have the possibility to select a visual response for the acknowledgement of a performed action. This new feature can be named as 'AnaDispS' (Analog subscriber Display Selection).
