Abstract

To better meet the consumer needs, it is proposed to use the Group-List mechanism defined for the Instant Messaging Service to send announcements to the subscribers. The user subscribes to the wanted group and then gets the appropriate messages. The sending of messages can be triggered by several means. This could for example be done by the service registry or the MNO OA&M (Mobile Network Operator Operation, Administration & Management). Group lists can be defined for different levels of abstraction. These are: 1. Group list for each service: Subscribers included in this list get important information concerning the particular service (e.g. updates, maintenance times, etc.).
