The paper to be printed (not shown) is wound by tension off shaft 1. Holder 2 for three equally-spaced brake blocks 3, which are pressed against brake disk 4 by spring 7, is permanently connected to shaft 1. The stationary brake disk 4 is prevented from rotating by stop 5. The brake blocks are made of graphite which, in the micro range, is hard as diamond in one plane and readily cleavable in the other plane.
