Abstract

Panels provide a customized interface which can be designed for data entry, edit, search and update of tables, printing database data in a user specified format, and invoking other processes. A panel must first be designed by completion of a complex series of screens to specify and layout the final panel, which then can be executed by a runtime user. In the case of a single table, a simple method for defining a panel based upon the table name is provided when the user chooses the "Default Definition" option. Using this option, all the table columns for a single table are formatted on the panel based upon the table description. A default set of actions is defined as well as a title and instructions on the panel.
