Each card assembly has a card stiffener located on the top and bottom on the card. Each of the card stiffeners has locating tabs protruding down its entire length that will slide into corresponding slots on the guidance plates when this card assembly is inserted into the cage. (Image Omitted) The guidance plates are designed such that they locate the card near the forward edge of the cage and also near the rear just prior to when the connector on the card mates with the corresponding connector on the board. This allows the remaining area on the guidance plate to remain open to minimize restrictions to the flow of air for cooling. There is a wide card lead-in to position the card assembly, thus making it easy to slide the card into position and still maintain horizontal accuracy.
