Disclosed is a pair of interfaces which allows different simulators to be readily attached to different physical modeling systems. Such interfaces allow for both simulator and physical modeler interchangeability. As newer, more powerful simulators and physical modelers are developed it becomes a simple task to integrate them into the simulation system. Such common data interfaces also allows for multiple simulators and physical modelers to run concurrently and to share information between each other. The first common data interface required is the link between the simulator and the set of behaviors common to all of the simulators. When the format and data content are standardized, then any simulator is able to activate the common behavior and send and receive data from the common behavior.
