The assembly comprises arm 10, bar spacer 12, optional insert 14, optional bosses 16 and optional bosses 18, with the bosses 16 and insert 14, constituting a methodology for the attachment of a head/suspension assembly to arm 10. The assembly, shown in the drawings, comprises 3 to 5 of the elements as follows: 1. The arm 10 (Figs. 1 and 2) which may be molded from a carbon fiber- filled PPS (polyphenylene sulfide) material, or other fiber- reinforced thermoplastic material, for assembly into an actuator. Molded filled plastics offer the capability of varying the filler material to fit the requirements of the application. For example, the proportion of filler material can be varied to achieve a balance between the strength of the material and its damping characteristics.
