Abstract

Disclosed is a program for controlling the length of an information field in a frame in a high level data link control architecture which establishes communication between plural communication units. The length of the information field is controlled in accordance with a condition of a transmission line. Fig. 1 shows a format of a frame in the high level data link control architecture which establishes the communication between the plural communication units. The frame includes flag fields (F), an address field (A), a control field (C), an information field (I), and a frame checking sequence field (FCS). The length of the information field containing data is controlled in accordance with a condition of a transmission line, as follows. Fig. 2 shows a flow chart for decreasing the length of the information field.
