Abstract

A method of removal and attachment of a heavy machine cover is described. A rail-type design is used to slide the cover on and off the machine. Only two screws are required for its attachment to the machine frame. In Figs. 1, 2, and 3, cover 1 slides on frame 2 by the contact made on the frame rails 3. These rails have a rolled or rounded edge. This reduces the friction commonly created in this situation and allows the cover to be removed easily. Two tabs 4 guide the top of the cover (Image Omitted) along the frame. The also serve as the attachment point for two screws that fasten the cover to the frame. The cover also wraps around the frame and is captured between the frame and the base 5 so it will not come off the machine unless the rail system is used.
