A technique is described whereby a mechanism is added to a microscope, which incorporates up to five lenses, so as to provide automatic focus offset adjustments for each lens. The automatic focus offset adjustment allows microscopic measurements to take place immediately after a lens selection is made. This improvement eliminates the need for an operator to manually adjust the offset.
