Abstract

A machine is shown to simultaneously circumferentially texture four disks 4. The disks 4 are loaded onto separately driven motors 5. The upper and lower platens 6, 7 are loaded onto the disks to stabilize them and also provide pad and slurry to perform the texture operation (Fig. 1). Disks 4 loaded on the four independently driven spindles 8 will be driven at a high rate of speed (200 rpm) while the large platens 6, 7 are driven at a low rate (4 rpm). With the disks loaded and both spindles turning simultaneously, a circumferential textured surface will result. (Image Omitted)
