Concept Search - What can I type?
For a concept search, you can enter phrases, sentences, or full paragraphs in English. For example, copy and paste the abstract of a patent application or paragraphs from an article.
Concept search eliminates the need for complex Boolean syntax to inform retrieval. Our Semantic Gist engine uses advanced cognitive semantic analysis to extract the meaning of data. This reduces the chances of missing valuable information, that may result from traditional keyword searching.

Pin-In-Hole Component Solderability Inspection
Disclosed is a low-cost lighting method to provide continuous illumination to
solder joints having curved surfaces and a simple image analysis method for
inspection of solderability.
Certain pin-in-hole components are soldered to a printed circuit board at their
lead pins. In order to acquire clear image of such solder joints by the use of a
CCD camera, a lighting method which provides continuous illumination to all over
curved surfaces of solder joints has been found, that is, the combination of
circular lamps and a reflector, as shown in Fig. 1. The circular lamps are two
conventional high frequency fluorescent lamps, the upper one is arranged for
illumination from a low angle and the lower, smaller one is for illumination from a
high angle. The reflector may be a white plate, which is ar- ranged along the
surface of solder joint for continuous illumination.
Using the above-stated illumination method, the image signal as reflecting
luminance from solder joints is acquired by CCD camera. The digitized image of
each solder joint is analyzed by a simple method which scans the image and
checks the existence of a closed low luminance region representing a certain
defect in the solder joint.
The program sets a window of a determined size by solder joint size before
inspection, as shown in Fig. 2, and luminance of each pixel is arranged by the
filter to eliminate noise luminance from the printed circuit bo...
