The hot pool environment may be described as consisting of a predefined pool of virtual machines that have been brought to a run ready state and the pool being managed by a virtual machine hot pool manager. An application is invoked in a pool virtual machine when an Advanced Program to Program Communication (APPC) ALLOCATE is received by the hot pool manager. A single virtual machine is dedicated to a single application for the duration of the APPC conversation. This disclosure provides a method of routing different applications to the same virtual machine when the operating system provides application processing concurrency through multitasking in a single virtual machine.
