Disclosed is a scheme for inexpensively adding a loop-back/wrap-back feature for a parallel data port. This can be done inexpensively by splitting a data bus into a send and receive half. A wrap plug is used to wrap the send half into the receive half. Data patterns are then rippled through to detect stuck bits.
