Provided is a graphical technique to display complex relationships between
objects to overcome the deficiencies of conventional character presentation of
Objects of future computer systems are becoming more complex. The
components of object definitions include screen images, data, data
specifications, screen image specifications, related data siblings, data/object
relationships, and multiple physical and reference copies of one or more of the
object components. The graphic presentation visually depicts the components in
a hierarchic form, showing all relationships and components in a tree-like
structure. The user can access and modify one or all of the objects.
The benefits to the user are increased understanding of the components and
relationships of objects being worked with. Reduced errors, increased
productivity, and improved learning of the system are also realized.
