Heat Treatment for Obtaining Crack-Free High Density Yba2cu30x

YBa2Cu3Ox specimens cooled from sintering temperatures (950oC) at cooling rates above 50oC/Hr show cracking due to inhomogeneous oxygenation. This cracking limits the transport critical current density (Jc) of the superconductor. A new heat treatment is described to obtain crack-free and high Jc superconductor materials.
