In systems that have large amounts of physical memory, it is always advisable to perform some form of error checking, parity being the simplest scheme. It is also economical in such systems to use part of this memory for storing the display's frame buffer. This method proposes a means for allowing graphics and system storage to coexist while maintaining the full effectiveness of parity checking.
