Abstract

Operative redundant air moving devices (AMD's) provide airflow when one of the AMD's fails in electronic equipment. With one AMD inoperative, for example, the temperature of electronic components such as IC chips will generally increase, and, under certain operational and environmental conditions, may exceed their maximum allowable value.
