Concept Search - What can I type?
For a concept search, you can enter phrases, sentences, or full paragraphs in English. For example, copy and paste the abstract of a patent application or paragraphs from an article.
Concept search eliminates the need for complex Boolean syntax to inform retrieval. Our Semantic Gist engine uses advanced cognitive semantic analysis to extract the meaning of data. This reduces the chances of missing valuable information, that may result from traditional keyword searching.

User Interface for Dynamic Change of Action Bar and Pulldown Content
Based Upon Attributes of Selected Objects
Provided is a technique which automatically changes the content of action
bar and pulldown content using an object-sensitive approach in order to
overcome the difficulties of current implementations.
The user is provided with conventional methods for selection of actions and
objects, e.g., action bars, pulldowns, and mouse-based selection. The initial
action bar and pulldown content is generic in nature, i.e., it is constructed for a
default object. If multiple object types can be displayed in the window, the user is
also provided with the capability of object-sensitive display of action bar and
pulldown selections. As objects of different type are selected, the action bar and
pulldowns are dynamically changed to reflect the set of valid actions for the
selected object. Only valid selections are displayed to the user, as opposed to a
mix of valid and invalid selections.
The benefits to the user include new function, reduced learning and
ambiguity, reduced keystrokes for selection of actions, enhanced productivity and
usability, reduced screen space requirements, and reduced development costs.
