Abstract

A method is described which permits the Debugger program to use an alternate terminal to run code to debug the home terminal keyboard and display. The method provides the capability of switching between the home keyboard/display and an asynchronous terminal. This allows the Debugger program to be used to debug a keyboard or display device driver whenever a "Swap" command is entered. When entered, the Swap command performs the following actions: Swap the Debugger's keyboard/display to/from an asynchronous terminal. Performs any required cleanup for the swapped-from device. Performs any required initialization of the swapped-to device.
