Abstract

A method is described which informs the user of additional or changed information that was not available at publication time and which makes sure that the user reads the information at least one time before using the product and is able to review it later at any time. Some products inform the user of the product of any additional or changed information that was not available early enough to get into the publications by having a file on the diskette, usually called "read.me" that contains the additional information. The availability of the "read.me" file is mentioned in the User's Guide. The user is asked to type the directory of each diskette. If a "read.me" file exists, the user should "type" or "print" the file to see its contents. This does not guarantee that the user will read important information in the "read.
