Abstract

An ATM (Automatic Teller Machine) is provided with the capability of retrieving and storing cash issued which has not been accepted and withdrawn by the customer within a predetermined time interval. The figure shows the cash-issuing transport mechanism. Bidirec tional motor 4 drives geared pulley 3 by means of timing belt 5. Pulley 3 mates with and drives geared pulley 6, thus driving document transport belt 7 and geared idler pulley 8. This pulley in turn mates with and drives pulley 9 and thus drives a second document transport belt 10 around idler pulley 11. Additional idler pulleys 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16, are provided to maintain proper tension between document transport belts 7 and 10. Also shown are unidirectional pulleys 20 and 21 which are drivable by belts 22 and 23, respectively, in one direction only.
