A method is described for implementing a central scheduling facility for the Interactive Satellite Education Network (ISEN). ISEN is an interactive delivery system designed and used by IBM technical education to provide education services via satellite. Strategic locations are provided for class instruction around the United States. Class scheduling is critical for ISEN to function smoothly. The scheduling must be user-friendly, maintenance costs must be minimized and updates to class information must be easily incorporated. One skilled in the art will recognize that although this method is presented in terms of a specific implementation, the scheduling, query and reporting capabilities could be used for scheduling other activities. The ISEN Central Scheduling Data Base provides a comprehensive scheduling program.
